Eligibility Criteria:
To qualify for the DC Flex Rent Program, participants must meet the following requirements:

Income: Annual household income must be at or below 40% of D.C.'s median income.

Residency: Participants must reside in Washington, D.C., and be leaseholders of a rental unit within the District.

Employment: Participants must demonstrate recent or current employment.

Family Eligibility: Families must include at least one minor child under the participant’s physical custody.
Program Details for Families
Families enrolled in the DC Flex Program can receive up to $8,400 per year, and may remain in the program for up to five years. Participants must recertify their eligibility annually with DHS, show proof of employment after the first year, and attend two financial coaching sessions and one financial management session per year. You can continue to use the funds as long as you don't exceed your yearly allocation.

Individuals enrolled in the program can receive up to $7,200 per year, with similar program requirements and up to five years of eligibility. After the first year, participants must provide proof of employment and continue attending financial coaching and financial management sessions to remain in the program.
